We would have been even more excited to have seen Mader and Padun in the selection. Poels and Teuns haven't exactly had great seasons.

not really, yeah, but already before the Giro Bilbao said that he'd be more focused on a GC result in the Tour, so I guess he may be their best shot

The Ackerman one is an interesting one.  He is mega peeed because apparantly 'he was promised he would go to the Tour for the next 3 years'.   The fact that he hasnt won a race this year, and lost to Cav (who is not going to the Tour as DQS have a better opetion) doesnt seem to occu to him ....

You can understand him being angry (with his team, with himself and with his legs etc), but he must have realised there is always a hidden asterisk in statements like "You will get to ride the Tour next year*"

    https://teamqhubeka.com/dlamini-makes-history-as-team-qhubeka-assos-name-tour-de-france-line-up

    Simon Clarke – Australia
    Michael Gogl – Austria
    Victor Campenaerts – Belgium
    Max Walscheid – Germany
    Sean Bennett – USA
    Nic Dlamini – South Africa
    Sergio Henao – Colombia
    Fabio Aru – Italy

Tbh I was expecting Nizzolo to be riding here. Not sure if there's a known reason why he's not. Maybe he's said he will be leaving at the end of the season.
