Not a bad few days for Team Crash Bang Wallop. Wins for Almeida, Bagioli, Higuita, Girmay and even Mika Heming with the final stage in Rhodes.

Update #11: Leadbelly is not singing the blues

A classic spring week has come and gone, and some teams struck it really big, with 'rare-but-popular-enough-to-be-a-difference-maker' riders like Higuita and Girmay scoring big, and a flurry of decent-point races both of the one-day and stage-race variety. Spoiler alert for the very next section of this update - 11 teams broke the 1000 point barrier for the week!

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   Leadbelly   1254
    2   EvansIsTheBest   1238
    3   Lortnoc   1228
    4   kabete   1186
    5   triley36   1123

In fact, the best teams this week broke 1200 points! Leadbelly scores a narrow victory, thanks primarily to the two riders I name-dropped in the intro: Biniam Girmay's first ever two days on the cobbles netted 316 points on the week for his 17 team owners, and Sergio Higuita's consistency combined with audacity got 327 points for his 30 owners. As well, Leadbelly got an even 200 points from Joao Almeida, a rider picked by only two teams, and then 139 from the highly regarded Juan Ayuso, who was picked by considerably more teams (57 to be exact). EvansIsTheBest, a familiar name in these updates so far this year, has another incredible week, just behind at 1238 points. EITB of course had the big two of Higuita and Girmay, as well as Ayuso, but in place of Almeida their team contained Ben Tulett (105 points, 22 teams) and Kaden Groves (93 points, 13 teams). Lortnoc ends up in third with the same marquee combo as EITB, swapping out Groves for Marc Hirschi (99 points, 33 teams).

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total
    1   ray10   147
    2   EvansIsTheBest   111
    3   Eyeballs Out   108
    4   Lortnoc   105
    5   Jakob747   96

The rich got richer this week, as 4 of the top 5 in this ranking scored points this week (meaning they were in the top 15 on the week; and of course being high on this list means you've had some good weeks). EvansIsTheBest scores 35 points for 2nd on the week, but ray10 was well ahead after the last few weeks and scored 10 points this week to boot. Lortnoc and Jakob747 scored 30 and 20 this week respectively (and kabete in 6th place overall was also in the top 5 of the week).

    Top 10 Overall

    7   (+1)   Nyssinator   4042
    8   (+13)   triley36   3982
    9   (-7)   MADRAZO   3973
    10   (+22)   kabete   3945

Well, when the top 10 teams overall have about 4000 points and a bunch of teams scored over 1000 points this week, things are gonna shake up. Last week's leader Eyeballs Out, while scoring a decent-sounding 425 points on the week, gets overtaken by the supercharged scorers this week and falls all the way to 14th overall. Everything else gets shaken up in the top 10 save for the remarkably consistent Squire in third; EITB takes back the top spot, ray10 comes back to the podium, and the top 3 are quite a bit ahead of the rest. Nakazar, Lortnoc, triley36 and kabete leap into the top 10, while on top of the aforementioned Eyeballs Out, laarsland, tobydawq and repre slide outta the top 10.

This week is a bit less action packed in terms of volume of races, but of course it makes up for that with high profile racing in the Ronde on Sunday. Dwars Door Vlaanderen is a mid-week appetizer, while 1-day races in France and Spain on the weekend act as counter-programming. Unlikely we get scores as high as this week without a stage race, but it should be fun!

Update #12: Bicycle Boy owns the week as see-saw battle continues in the overall

The scope of the main event of the week was bigger than the sheer number of CQ points available, so there was a bit of a step back from the 4-digit scores we saw at the top in week 11. But cycling fans got a treat regardless of who you have in your team, as the Ronde came down to the best classics rider (that didn't have covid) vs the reigning TdF (and nearly everything else) champion. So if you didn't have a big week for your team, I hope you at least had fun!

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   Bicycle_Boy   640
    2   BlueRoads   500
    3   LosBrolin   466
    4   18-Valve. (pithy)   463
    5   del1962   458

Quite a decisive victory for the week by Bicycle Boy here, being the only team to clear 500 points, let alone 600! Such is the advantage of being the only team to take a swing at the 1523 point cost of Mathieu van der Poel. With a win in the Ronde and DDV both this week, MvdP alone scored 460 points, which would be better than all but 3 other teams for the week. Throw in the 130 that Pidcock got, and you've got a clear win, plus dribs and drabs from other riders. BlueRoads lands in second with an even 500 points, thanks to Pidcock but also even more thanks to almost unique pick Tiesj Benoot, who scored 150 for his two teams. And shoutout to BlueRoads for some good looking picks in Mads Pedersen (85 points, 10 teams), who has already scored 80% of his 589 point cost, and Alexis Vuillermoz (58 points, 3 teams), who is already almost 50 points in profit over his cost of 121. Third goes to LosBrolin, who also has Pidcock as a common link, with strong contributions from the continuing ridiculous neo-pro season from Arnaud De Lie (80 more points to get to almost 400, at a cost of 57), and the 'where did that come from' week from Fred Wright (96 points, 5 teams).

    3   Eyeballs Out   108
    4   Lortnoc   105
    5   Jakob747   96

ray10 scores yet another 10 points to extend their lead in this contest, and now has scored points for being the top 15 of the week in 6 of the 12 weeks thus far. No other teams in the top 5 overall score this week.

    9   (+1)   kabete   4195
    10   (-6)   search   4173

It's quite tight at the top! ray10's solid week means that their team switches places with EvansIsTheBest, but the gap is less than 40 points. Squire's top 15 placing on the week tightens the gap to third as well, only 64 back of first. The rest are a bit farther back, but still in striking distance with a good week. laarsland is the only new entrant in the top 10 this week, at the expense of triley36.

This week we have Itzulia, Sarthe, and of course, the Queen of the Classics itself and the culmination of Holy Week... Amstel Gold Race? Alright, we'll wait until 2023 to get a full Holy Week back, no problem.

Update #13: It's not crowded at the top

It was an action-packed week, with the always-great and often-unpredictable Itzulia throwing up a result with neither Roglic or Evenepoel on the final podium, the sometimes-great and occasionally-unpredictable Amstel Gold Race ending with a pretty fun two-up sprint, and a smattering of other races. Who came out on top?

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   EvansIsTheBest   873
    2   BlueRoads   819
    3   Riverside   764
    4   LaFlorecita   762
    5   JPettersen   745

Well, a familiar name came out on top, that's who. EvansIsTheBest had 1st and 4th at Itzulia, with of course the 328 points from Dani Martinez being the biggest for EITB and Martinez's other 32 owners, as well as 150 points for Olav Kooij for his wild last-day GC coup at Sarthe. Add in good support points from relatively rare picks Axel Zingle (55 points, 2 teams) and Carlos Rodriguez (47 points, 16 teams) and it's enough for a solid win. BlueRoads had Martinez as well but was more Amstel-heavy in support, with 222 points from Benoit Cosnefroy (6 teams) and 112 from Tiesj Benoot (2 teams). Riverside winds up in third with 'only' 764 points, led again by Martinez and Kooij, with double digit supporting points from the likes of Pedersen, Hirschi, and Rodriguez.

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total

    3   Eyeballs Out   108
    4   Lortnoc   105
    5   Jakob747   96

ray10 had a 46 point lead coming into this week, then EITB scored 45 for the weekly win, and now it's a 1-point difference! No one else in the top 5 scores, so it's becoming a two-horse race at the top.

    Top 10 Overall

    Rank   Up/down   Team   Points
    1   (+1)
    EvansIsTheBest
    5498
    2   (-1)   ray10   5229
    3   (-)   Squire   5210
    4   (-)   Nakazar   5012
    5   (+1)   MADRAZO   4930
    6   (+1)   Nyssinator   4925
    7   (+1)   laarsland   4859
    8   (+2)   search   4827
    9   (-4)   Lortnoc   4783
    10   (+1)   zaka_fan   4743

Speaking of  which, those two are the top 2 overall as well, with their positions flipped. However, EITB's good weeks have been the big point weeks, so the difference between EITB and ray10 is a bit bigger than the Green Jersey points, and Squire is breathing down ray10's neck in 3rd, quietly consistent every week. But EITB leads by 269 points, a respectable week's point score on most weeks on its own, and only 3 other teams are within 500 points. It's a long season, but EITB has a good cornerstone on which to build.

As the points build for the season, the table shakeups are a bit less volatile, so this week the only entry into the top 10 is zaka fan, while kabete slides out.

This week we have stage races in Turkey and Sicily, Brabantse Pijl, and the apex of the cobbled classics in Paris-Roubaix, back in April for the first time in 3 years.

Update #14: Familiar names continue to win

So you've been in the lead of the CQ manager game, but the team in second place wins the week big to leap back in front of you. What should you do? Well, a good start is to win the very next week!

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   ray10   515
    2   del1962   463
    3   Bonimenier   456
    4   skidmark   450
    5   NielsB   413

ray10, after dropping to second overall, swings back at EvansIsTheBest by following the above advice and winning this week, as the only team clearing 500 points. Their team's star of the week was the very cheap (19 points - same as his age) Magnus Sheffield picking up a handy 130 points for his win in Brabantse Pijl, which his 12 owners will savor. Aside from that, it was just a good collection of supporting points, with 78 from Cosnefroy (6 teams), 76 from unique pick Meintjes, 52 and 46 from more popular picks Pidock and Evenepoel, and 40 from Vuillermoz (3 teams). del1962 lands in 2nd place thanks also to Sheffield, but with strong support in the form of 112 points from another Ineos neo-pro in Ben Turner, as well as Pidcock and Evenepoel. Bonimenier nabs third with an identical mix to del, but a little less support from the odds and ends scoring riders.

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total
    1   ray10   202
    2   EvansIsTheBest   156
    3   Eyeballs Out   108
    4   Lortnoc   105
    5   Jakob747   96

ray10's lead here was down to a single point last week, but now it's back to 46 over EITB, and 94 points over third place. That's one weekly win better than 2nd and more than 2 weekly wins better than third, so ray10 is safe on top here for a bit.

    Top 10 Overall

    Rank   Up/down   Team   Points
    1   (+1)   ray10    5744

    7   (-2)   MADRAZO   5095
    8   (+1)   Lortnoc   4983
    9   (+1)   zaka_fan   4931
    10   (-2)   search   4903

The story this week is similar to the last few weeks - ray10 and EITB trade blows at the top, Squire stays consistent keeping within striking distance in third, and there's some jockeying for position lower down in the top 10. No entries or exits from the top 10 this week.

This week sees the Tour of the Alps, and the second part of the Ardennes with Fleche and Liege, ending the spring classics season before we transition to the first Grand Tour of the year in just a few weeks!

Update #15: Go with the Flo

The spring classics, as they are traditionally thought of, came to an end this week with QuickStep finally winning at Liege-Bastogne-Liege and Remco finally (for those who have heaped incredible expectations on a 22-year-old) won a really big race. As we take a breath and turn towards Grand Tour season, the story in the CQ game so far has been a back and forth battle between two teams that have a comfortable lead on the rest of the field. And fittingly, this week continued that narrative.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   LaFlorecita   912
    2   Armchair cyclist   893
    3   Object   886
    4   EvansIsTheBest   867
    5   Rakim   818

Some big scores this week, with the Tour of the Alps and the latter two Ardennes offering a few opportunities. LaFlorecita lands on top, clearing 900 points. Of course, her team was one of the 35 that had Remco and his 285 points on the week, and also one of the 33 teams that picked the Ineos slot machine that keeps on spitting out money, Dani Martinez (211 more points this week). And why not 112 more from Higuita (30 teams), 80 from Attila Valter (10 teams) and 75 from Marc Hirschi (35 teams) for good measure?

Armchair Cyclist lands in 2nd for the week just 19 points back, with the same 4 highest scorers as Flo and Pinot instead of Hirschi. Last year's winner Object shows up in third with 886 points with Evenepoel/Martinez leading the way, and further support from Arensman (92 points, 13 teams) and a few other riders lower down. And in fourth... well, we will get to that.

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total
    1   ray10   202
    2   EvansIsTheBest   182
    3   Eyeballs Out   108
    4   Lortnoc   105
    5   Jakob747   96

ray10 pulled away from EITB last week with the weekly win, then EITB pulls back this week with a 4th place finish and 26 points that come with it. Nobody else is even close, and none of the rest of the top 5 score this week.

    Top 10 Overall

    Rank   Up/down   Team   Points
    1   (+1)
    EvansIsTheBest
    6561
    2   (-1)   ray10   6376
    3   (-)   Squire   6069
    4   (+6)   search   5720
    5   (+1)   Nyssinator   5683
    6   (+1)   MADRAZO   5586
    7   (+13)   Object   5539
    8   (-3)   Nakazar   5532
    9   (+2)   NielsB   5510
    10   (-6)   laarsland   5485

The two top teams have been trading blows, and as mentioned at the top of this update, that trend continued this week. EITB gained over 200 points on ray10, who finished 21st on the week but such is the level at this rarefied air that EITB now once again has a decent sized lead. Squire holds serve in third, and there's some jockeying down below, most notably with Object rocketing into the top 10 at the expense of Lortnoc.

This week sees the Tour of Romandie and Eschborn Frankfurt as the two WT level races, as well as Vuelta a Asturias as a 2.1 race.

This week also marks the end of April, and I will be relinquishing update duties for May and June as my work takes me into less reliable internet. Jumbo Visma Fan will be taking over for May - thanks for that! I'll still be kicking around on the thread, and hoping that by the time I'm back in action my team is worth a mention on an update. Hope springs eternal...

    Go go Mika Heming. :)

Two stage wins already this year. A stagiaire role would be nice later in the year, if somewhat difficult to see where. B&B? They were meant to be looking at signing a German or two.

Hey everyone on VR! So Jumbo Visma Fan is doing the updates for this month, but doesn't have a VR account! I said I'd copy the updates, so here's this week's! I'm working out in the bush with limited internet so there may be a few days' delay, sorry about that.

Update #16- Dennis, Ayuso, and Bennett come in clutch for Nakazar as Evan Is The Best maintains the lead

Introducing me, Jumbo Visma Fan, as your update writer for the month of May. This week saw Vlasov win Romandie, Sosa and Yates shining in Asturias, and Sam Bennett returning to form in Frankfurt.

    Week 16 Standings

    1   Nakazar   863
    2   comodoro   812
    3   triley36   747
    4   Manafana   744
    5   search   742
Nakazar wins the week, taking advantage of 226 points from Rohan Dennis,180 from Sam Bennett, and 157 from Juan Ayuso in Romandie and Frankfurt. The latter two are popular picks, so those points from Dennis, picked only by 5 other owners, came in clutch for the weekly win. Elsewhere, comodoro scored his points through Vlasov, an unique pick contributing 381 points, with Ayuso and Ivan Sosa's GC and stage victory Asturias nets him 137 points to volt him into second place this week.

    Green Jersey Overall

    1   ray10   202
2   Evan is the Best   182
    3   Nazakar   133
    4   Lortnoc   123
    5   comodoro   113

Still a massive lead for our two leaders, but Nazakar moves into third with his successful week along with comodoro moving into 5th, but the race is still going to be among the top two unless something drastic happens.

    4   search   5720   0   6462
    5   Nakazar   5532   +3   6395
    6   MADRAZO   5586   0   6289
    7   Lortnoc   5476   +4   6201
    8   triley36   5362   +9   6109
    9   Kazistuta   5349   +9   6084
    10   laarsland   5485   0   6061

Only change in the top five is Nakazar, with his aforementioned big points week vaulting him up to fifth. In the bottom half, Lortnoc, triley36, and Kazistuta are the big movers, especially those latter two, each moving up nine spots, with triley36 having the same top three as Nazkazar, while Kazistuta used Bennett and Ayuso in combination with Sosa to catapult his way to the top ten.

Next week on the schedule, we start the Giro D'Italia, one of the three Grand Tours! A lot of popular picks are lining up here, could be a fun one for the CQ game, while in minor races, 4 Jours De Dunkerque starts tomorrow after six stages, with some interesting points to be picked up.

Let me know if there is anything wrong with the spreadsheet through PM or on this thread, I'm almost positive along the way I messed things up, but for now, have a good day!

I have been out of internet range for a bit so I'm getting last week's (May 9th) update from JVF here and will have this week's soon.

Week 17- Shalgo wins the week with Oliver Naesen while Evan is the Best loses minimal ground in the overall

I'm back with another update, with the Giro starting this week, but the more relevant forms of scoring to this game at least this week in Dunkirk, with 6 stages and overall wrapped up.

    Weekly Standings
    1   shalgo   240
    2   SafeBet   227
    3   zaka_fan   212
    4   Salvarani   208
    5   Eric10   204

Not a very relevant week to the game, but still points to be had. shalgo wins with Oliver Naesen and his 125 points. They also benefited from Biniam Girmay's second place finish on top of Visegrad in the opening stage of the Corsa Rosa. The Corsa Rosa will be more relevant, but not this week!

In second place, SafeBet relies on Jake Stewart and his 102 points along with Biniam Girmay's 55 points. The top five relied on Naesen and Stewart, with shalgo and Salvarani having Naesen and the other three having Stewart and their overall classification points to catapult them up the weekly rankings.

    Green Jersey
    1   ray10      202
    2   EvansIsTheBest      182
    3   Nakazar      133
    4   Lortnoc      123
    5   comodoro      113
No big change in the top 5, as none of the top 5 or 10 scored any points this week. This will likely change with the advent of the Giro.

    Overall Standings
    1   EvansIsTheBest   6897   1   6999
    2   ray10   6610   2   6733
    3   squire   6577   3   6663
    4   Nakazar   6395   5   6491
    5   search   6462   4   6483
    6   MADRAZO   6289   6   6375
    7   Lortnoc   6201   7   6297
    8   NielsB   6036   12   6225
    9   laarsland   6061   10   6214
    10   Kazistuta   6084   9   6170
Despite ray10 having a better week, it was minimal gains on EvanIsTheBest. Nakazar continue to climb, jumping ove search to get to fourth. In the back half of the top 10, NielsB jumps four spots to climb into the top ten, while laarsland and Kazistuta switch places.

The Giro D'Italia continues this week, with the Etna and Blockhaus MTF's to look forward to, while in other races, a series of .Pro events are taking place in France that offer up their fair share of points.

As last week, let me know if there is any problem with the spreadsheet, and have a great day!

I'm still mostly out of range, JVF is doing the updates... May 16 update below - will get the 23rd and 30th updates copied this week.

Update 18- vsd88 wins the week while ray10 inches closer to the overall lead

Hi again, for this week's update, delayed due to my Monday energy levels. This week we had the Giro's first two mountain finishes which are bound to pick up points, but we had a key dropout in regards to this game with Miguel Angel Lopez leaving on the Etna stage due to injury. In other happenings, the Tour of Hongrie took place this week, so people could earn points there as well.

    Weekly Rankings

    1   vsd88   502
    2   shalgo   494
    3   ray10   455
    4   Fivezzz   439
    5   Devils_Elbow   429

Our top two had almost identical teams in regards to point scoring this week, with Eddie Dunbar's 120 points from overall at Hongrie taking the charge. Lennard Kamna also contributes 77 points to their and most teams' total and same for Jai Hindley's 70 points. The difference for them lay in their mid-range picks, with Fabio Jakobsen outscoring Biniam Girmay this week. ray10 has Kamna as well as Juan Pedro Lopez's outstanding 148 points due to pink jersey bonuses and 2nd on Etna, inching closer to the lead. Fivezzz used Jakobsen, De Lie, Jake Stewart, and Kamna to get 4th this week, while Devils_Elbow took advantage of Hindley, Jakobsen, and rare pick Edoardo Zambanini and his 56 points to catapult him to fifth.

    Green Jersey

    1   ray10      232
    2   EvansIsTheBest      188
    3   Nakazar      133
    4   Lortnoc      123
    5   comodoro      113

The gap grows larger in the Green Jersey competition, with ray10 using his strong Giro team to get ahead of EvanIsTheBest. vsd88 won the week in the Green Jersey competition while shalgo followed up his win with a second place this week, which he can attribute to having Dunbar, Kamna, and Hindley.

    Overall Competition

    1   EvansIsTheBest   6999   1   7398
    2   ray10   6733   2   7188
    3   squire   6663   3   7081
    4   Nakazar   6491   4   6842
    5   MADRAZO   6375   6   6767
    6
    search   6483   5   6723
    7   Lortnoc   6297   7   6651
    8   NielsB   6225   8   6625
    9   laarsland   6214   9   6564
    10   Popularity Team   5992   17   6460

ray10 inches ever closer to EvanIsTheBest, a measly 266 points separating them. Otherwise, the big movers of the week is the Popularity team, jumping seven spots, with many popular riders scoring this week, and MADRAZO and search swapped spots from last week.

Looking ahead, the Giro surges on in the second week, with some minor French races to be had on the weekend.

As always let me know if something is wrong in the spreadsheet, and have a great day!

nevermind, in yesterday's update it did work again. Here it is, from Jumbo Visma Fan on CN:

    Quote
    Update 20- Giro GC

Well well well, many points were to be scored this week, with Jai Hindley, a popular pick of this years game taking the overall title, and Mikel Landa, another fairly well picked rider taking third, means we have a huge update ahead of us.

    Week Update
    1   bminchow   2032
    2   Object   1871
    3   MADRAZO   1760
    4   Armchair cyclist   1745
    5   Bonimenier   1740

bminchow takes the win of the week, with a staggering 2,032 points. Those can be found with the help of Jai Hindley(566), Mikel Landa(326), Emmanuel Buchmann(190), Hugh Carthy(169) and a few other high scorers to take the top spot. Object, our second place, had the combo of Hindley and Landa, along with the other big scorer of the week, Remco Evenepoel(257), taking GC and a few stage wins in Norway. MADRAZO had Hindley, Landa, and Buchmann, Armchair Cyclist had Hindley, Landa, Evenepoel, and Buchmann, but not much supporting cast relatively speaking, which is also the same story for our fifth placed team, Bonimenier.

    Green Jersey
As last week, the same top five as the weekly rankings, and no changes for our top five, or heavy point changes based on my calculations, with the two leaders not getting any points. In the transition from me and the next updater, Skidmark will take a look, so hopefully the standings are accurate.

    Overall
    1   EvansIsTheBest   9049
    2   squire   9004
    3   MADRAZO   8818
    4   ray10   8553
    6   search   8548
    6   laarsland   8383
    7   Nakazar   8339
    8   Object   8280
    9   Devils_Elbow   8271
    10   Armchair cyclist   8198

A big shake up in the standings this week, with a monumental occurrence in this game taking place. EvanIsTheBest holds on to his top spot to his own doubt, and a new challenger emerges to take ray10's place in squire. Both the top two crack the 9,000 points threshold, which is the first time in the game's history(in a year not affected by a pandemic anyway). Thanks for EvanIsTheBest for the chart above for that info! EvanIsTheBest had one rare pick to keep him in the top spot, which was Santiago Buitrago(185), keeping him there for at least another week. squire meanwhile uses Hindley, Landa, and Buchmann to gain serious ground on EvanIsTheBest, while MADRAZO uses the same combo as squire to sneak onto the podium. Unfortunately for ray10, Juanpe Lopez couldn't stay in pink forever, but he still gains solid points from him, Evenepoel, and Benoit Cosnefroy to try to keep fighting in the top five, with search only five points behind. In the bottom half, Nakazar unfortunately fell, while three huge movers are located in the 8-10th spot. Object and Armchair Cyclist were both mentioned above, while Devils_Elbow had Hindley, Buchmann, and Landa, but with the added bonus of rareish pick Tobias Halland Johannesen.

This concludes my run of write ups, which I thank Skidmark for this opportunity! I hand the keys off to our leader, EvanIsTheBest, which he gets to overlook the very exciting MercanTour Alpes Maritimes, Giro Dell'Appennino, and other races! For that so long, and keep regretting your bad selections(I blame that on being a rookie)!

Update 21: Sweet sound of victory for our resident DJ

    Weekly Scores

The first week post-Giro is usually a quiet one in the CQ game and this year was no exception. As the build up to the Tour de France isn't quite underway yet, there was as many (one) teams cracking 200 points this week as there were 2000 points teams last week. DJ Sprtsch has the honor of being that team powered by their rare picks: Jakob Fuglsang, Natnael Tesfatsion, Jason Tesson, Kaden Groves and Iuri Leitao. Familiar names complete the podium as ray10 (Meintjes and De Lie) as well as MADRAZO (Fuglsang, De Lie, Groves) had good weeks to push them towards the top of the GC. Leadbelly (Fuglsang, De Lie, Zingle) and yoyokt (Fuglsang and Bayer) also enjoyed good weeks.

    1DJ Sprtsch220
    2ray10199
    3MADRAZO181
    4Leadbelly177
    5yoyokt162

    Highest Movers
As you'd expect considering the number of points scored, there wasn't much movement up and down the rankings, with Hugo Koblet (De Lie, Hayter brothers, Groves and Covi) gaining 6 places. The aforementioned Leadbelly and DJ Sprtsch gain 5 places and nobody else moved up more than 3.

    1Hugo_Koblet+6
    2Leadbelly+5
    3DJ Sprtsch+5

    Green Jersey
Back to our regular programming, which means ray10 keeps widening their lead with a cushion worth more than two full weekly wins. MADRAZO jumps in front of Nakazar for third place.

    1ray10297
    2EvansIsTheBest200
    3MADRAZO168
    4Nakazar159
    5squire137

    GC
Nobody moves in or out of the top 10 but Devil's Elbow gains 2 spots to settle in 7th. It's getting very crowded at the top with ray10 and MADRAZO closing the gap to the top 2. Sean Quinn's clutch third place in the first stage of the Dauphiné keeps EITB in the lead by a mere 14 points but with the action picking up this week, the GC seems poised for a new leader.

In terms of spreadsheet bugs & fixes:
    - Fixed the green jersey rankings.
    - Fixed the Ben Turner name change in postmanhat's team.
    - Fixed the mismatches between the spreadsheet name and the name of the team displayed in the A1 cell where it was necessary.
    - Fixed the link to their team spreadsheet from the rankings, green jersey and update tabs for squire and Nyssinator.
Let me know if you catch any other mistakes.

Update 22: Nyssinator stars while new leader is crowned

    Weekly Scores

Nyssinator tops the charts this week with no less than six riders clearing the 50 points mark : Jakobsen, Kooij, Hirschi, McNulty, Kron and Van Dijke (with Ewan and Bagioli being this close to joining the group). In second place, laarsland relies on the CQ game star of the week (Kooij) and arguably of the year (De Lie) as well as a few riders that haven't shined as brightly in recent months: Vliegen, Van Tricht and Geoghegan Hart. Jpettersen sees their rare pick Mareckzo score more in a week than in the entire 2021 season to help propel them on the podium (Kooij, Jakobsen, Johannessen and Geoghegan Hart did their part too). Lortnoc (Hirschi, Kooij, Geoghegan Hart, Vuillermoz) and Fivezzz (Kooij, De Lie, Kron and Jakobsen) round out the top 5.

    1Nyssinator786
    2laarsland724
    3Jpettersen719
    4Lortnoc693
    5Fivezzz689

    Highest Movers
Yellow Knight manages a double digit jump in the rankings with rare pick Ganna doing his usual damage against the clock. Rufs gains 9 places with notable performances from Kron and Van Dijke. Tied in third there are familiar names (Nyssinator and Jpettersen) as well as Hakkie2 who is probably hoping that Tesfatsion can continue his rich vein of form.

    1Yellow Knight+10
    2Rufs+9
    3Nyssinator+8
    3Jpettersen+8
    3Hakkie2+8

    Green Jersey
MADRAZO (Kooij, De Lie, Jakobsen, Geoghegan Hart) continues their hot streak with a fourth straight week of 20+ points but ray10 remains comfortably ahead of the pack. Lortnoc jumps into the top 5 on the back of their 4th place this week.

    1ray10297
    2EvansIsTheBest200
    3MADRAZO188 (+20)
    4Nakazar159
    4Lortnoc159 (+26)

    GC
After chipping away for weeks at EITB's lead, squire (Kooij, De Lie, Jakobsen, Vuillermoz) finally takes over the top spot while MADRAZO's recent performances mean that our former leader slides down to third. Our new leader's success has been driven by their lower priced riders all year. In fact their 25 lowest priced riders have combined for 7798 points (for a 3973 price) which would be enough on their own to land in the top 40. Watch out if their heavy hitters starts joining the party. Search despite finishing a strong 14th on the week loses their top 5 spot to laarsland. Lortnoc and Riverside convert their strong showing in this update into an entry in the top 10 while Object and Armchair Cyclist drop out. No worries though with the Tour de Suisse, Belgium Tour, Tour of Slovenia and Route de l'Occitanie there's plenty of opportunities to make up lost ground this week.

    Update 23: Salvation for Salvarani

    Weekly Scores

Is the title a bit dramatic ? Probably, but when you score over a thousand points in a week when no GT GC points are awarded it's also well deserved. With Fuglsang, Higuita, Leknessund, Jungels, Pinot and Martinez, it's hard to see how the Tour de Suisse could have gone any better for their team. Riverside uses a similar core of riders, swapping out Sergio Higuita for Carlos Rodriguez and Mads Pedersen to be also crack 1k. It might not have been Evenepoel's finest week but his efforts combined with pleasant surprises from Simmons, Skjelmose and Schmid (as well as aforementioned Pinot, Jungels, Leknessund, Martinez) are enough to push Berflamand on the podium. Greenedge (Higuita, Fuglsang, Simmons, Pinot, Jungels) and trackstand (Higuita, Fuglsang, Pinot, Leknessund, Jungels) also shined in Suisse to complete the top 5.

    1Salvarani1034

    3Berflamand990
    4greenedge856
    5trackstand844

    Highest Movers
Berflamand and Salvarani convert their strong weeks into double digit rise in the rankings. 18-Valve. (pithy) joins them with their expensive bets in Pogacar and Evenepoel paying off handsomely this week (Pinot and Jungels had strong supporting roles too) .

    1Berflamand+12
    2Salvarani+10
    218-Valve. (pithy)+10

    Green Jersey
EITB gets 12th (Higuita, Evenepoel, Martinez, Pinot, Skjelmose, Carlos Rodriguez, Simmons) on the week to get a bit of breathing room in second. Lortnoc (Higuita, Fuglsang, Jungels, Pinot) gets 2 points to break their tie with Nakazar in 4th.

    1ray10297
    2EvansIsTheBest208 (+8)
    3MADRAZO188
    4Lortnoc161 (+2)
    5Nakazar159

    GC
The return to action of EITB's top riders wasn't quite enough to recapture the top spot but with only 27 points separating the top two teams, there's plenty of room for twists and turns still. MADRAZO quietly keeps pace as the podium is now over 10k for the year and 400 points clear from the rest of the field. Search now leads the chase with Riverside rocketing up to 6th after their great week. Ray10 and laarsland lose a little ground but remain firmly in the top 10. Nakazar gives up the final spot in the top 10 to Armchair cyclist for a mere 16 points. This week is filled with national championships which means the vast majority of riders picked in the game are going to be on the road at the same time, competing against wildly different fields which foreshadows a chaotic update.
